Own your own home

The Marlborough Sustainable Housing Trust aims to provide affordable housing to Marlborough households through rental housing and shared ownership. This is a partnership with the Trust where you buy a share (between 50% and 80%) in a new house and over time can buy out the Trust for full ownership.
We build our houses to be energy efficient and accessible – and we are looking for households on moderate incomes interested in becoming home owners.

We build our houses to be energy efficient and accessible – and we are looking for tenant households on low incomes, who are interested in becoming home owners. Applicants must have a demonstrated housing need (e,g, unaffordability, tenure insecurity, crowding, health condition, disability), such that shared home ownership is required to meet the specific housing need of the household assisted.

Want to own a home but can't afford it?

The Marlborough Sustainable Housing Trust was set up to bridge the gap between Marlborough’s low wages and high property prices. We are a non-profit charity.
One shared owner describes us as fairy godparents – we bridged the gap between her income and what she needed to stop renting and buy a new house.
